You’ve done a lot of work already: the programs, the meal plans, and the appointments that promised something different. And still, recovery isn’t sticking because it hasn’t taken into account ALL of you. Your history keeps showing up at every meal and you’re trying to decide if it’s really worth all the effort to try this again in hopes of food taking up less brain space.
Nutrition counseling that takes the whole picture seriously can help you rebuild a relationship with food that’s actually sustainable, on your terms, at your pace.
Individualized support for navigating an eating disorder, disordered eating, or food fears that are consuming your day-to-day life.
Understanding how obsessions and compulsions that show up as rigid rules and rituals can impact your experiences with eating, movement, or your body.
Food rules may have developed as a way to feel safe. After traumatic experiences, your body might become more hypervigilant or more disconnected from internal signals, which can shape how you relate to food, eating, and exercise.
Nutrition guidance for individuals managing medically complex situations or eating disorders that require tube feeding and alternative feeding support.
Complete elimination of eating disorder behaviors isn't a condition of care. The urges are real, and we’re here to work through them together.
Behaviors, compulsions, and trauma all live in the same nervous system. To support your nutrition, we have to understand how trauma affects your body.
My philosophical foundation of nutrition counseling is rooted in weight inclusive, Health at Every Size ® care.
We trust your intuition here, and our work doesn’t require a diagnosis to know something needs to be addressed when it comes to your eating patterns & behaviors.
A registered dietitian (and technically a nurse practitioner too) who realized early on in her career that the traditional eating disorder recovery route wasn’t for everyone.
I’m a hype-girl when it comes to taking small steps forward, a truth-teller that won’t sugarcoat recovery, and a former believer that everything would be so much better if I had the perfect diet.

I take a relational approach, grounded in the belief that the connection we build together is one of the most important parts of meaningful, positive change. As your provider, my goal is to collaborate with you so you feel like an active part of the process, not someone being told what you should do. I focus on meeting you where you are to create a space where you feel supported and capable. Safety is always a priority, and I see it as something we build together so you can move from feeling stuck or uncertain toward a sense of “ I can do this”.
For as long as you find it helpful and meaningful! Typically at the beginning of a new relationship it can be most beneficial to begin with weekly or biweekly sessions. Depending on your needs, we can increase or decrease the frequency of sessions collaboratively.
She is one of the gentlest people I have ever met and focuses on clients feeling safe and autonomous so they can serve as the catalyst for their own progress. Rachel excels in piecing through the emotional depth that comes with eating disorders and takes a holistic approach rather than just focusing on the food. She has a unique ability to connect themes in a client's life and help them see the protective nature of their eating disorder while also helping them build the knowledge and skills to feel safe without the use of behaviors. She is calm, gentle, supportive, kind, and caring, and has truly saved my life. I am so grateful for the opportunity to work with a provider who cares so much and would recommend her to anyone.
I began working with Rachel three years ago after spending decades living with anorexia, orthorexia and complex trauma. I held little hope that I would ever be able to let go of my deeply embedded beliefs and harmful behaviors. From the first session, Rachel made me feel safe. She met me where I was and at the same time guided me to make changes in a way that pushed me out of my comfort zone and allowed me to gradually increase my food intake while incorporating foods that I had not eaten in years. She encouraged and supported me as my body started to change and taught me how to manage the anxiety and fear that came along with my changing body. It has not been an easy process and I have had ups and downs in this journey. Yet, it has been so worth it.
Working with Rachel has truly changed my life. She is so knowledgeable and has provided me the education to understand my eating disorder, the importance of proper nutrition, and the influences in my life that have affected my relationship with food and exercise. Not only that, she is so compassionate, encouraging, validating, and empathetic. She has provided me with a space to share everything I am feeling and meets me with acceptance and support. Without Rachel, I would not be making steps towards recovery and I would not have nearly as much awareness of how my eating disorder shows up in my life. Rachel is amazing!
Working with Rachel over the past 3 years, I have made immense progress with my complicated relationship with food, as well as my health anxiety in general. I originally made an appointment with her to discuss gastrointestinal issues, as recommended by my primary care physician, but after just one or two appointments, she helped me open up and realize some deeper nutritional issues! Rachel has always been informative, respectful, and supportive. She is an active listener, and talking to her in sessions is as easy as chatting with a friend! I was nervous at first, because of stereotypes I had heard in the past of dietitians/nutritionists, but I have never felt judged by Rachel, or pressured to take a certain path. I would recommend her to ANYONE who has any kind of non-neutral feelings about food or body image.
